Jeff’s practice involves representing emerging growth and technology companies in various corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, technology transactions, government contracting issues, equity financings, public offerings, reporting and regulatory requirements, and labor employment issues. Jeff has also advised companies and entrepreneurs on purchasing distressed assets, patents, and intellectual property subject to bankruptcy proceedings, and he has represented investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds, and other entities in secondary market loan transactions. Jeff takes an active interest in legal issues affecting veterans and regularly advises veterans and organizations supporting veterans’ issues.

Jeff received a BS degree in Management & Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA degree from the University of South Carolina, and a JD degree from the George Washington University Law School.

Jeff works in Washington, DC, and lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Cecilia, and their son and daughter.

Colonel (COL) Sang Min “Sam” Sok was born in Seoul, Korea and immigrated to the United States in 1982. He grew up in Murfreesboro TN. He is a 1998 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

COL Sok commissioned as an Infantry Officer after graduation. He has served as a Platoon Leader, Support Platoon Leader, and Executive Officer in the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. Following the Infantry Captains Career Course, he commanded Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment in Korea. He was later assigned as a Senior Company Observer Controller at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, LA.

In 2006, COL Sok was selected into the Operations Research Systems Analysis (ORSA) Functional Area (FA49) and attended the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) to earn his Master’s Degree in Operations Research. In 2009 COL Sok deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He worked as an ORSA for the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A). In 2012 he once again deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A). He returned to Monterey, CA in 2012 and earned a PhD in Modeling and Simulations at NPS. Following graduation, he returned to Afghanistan to serve as the Deputy Director of the Afghan Assessments Group (AAG).

COL Sok also served in Germany as a member of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Chief of the Assessments Division, G35 and then as the Executive Officer to the USAREUR G3. His most recent assignment was the Director of the Training and Exercise Directorate, G37 for the Eighth U.S. Army in Camp Humphreys, Korea.

COL Sok is currently a student at the Korean National Defense University participating as part of the U.S. Army Senior Service College’s Schools of Other Nations program. He is married to his lovely wife Jean and has an amazing son Paxton.
