Mark DeRocchi

Mark (Rock) DeRocchi is the Owner and Chief Operations Officer for DeRocchi and Sons, LLC an Alaskan based company that provides Engineering, Construction, and Consultation services.

Rock is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army where he served as a Ranger qualified Engineer Officer and Enlisted member for 21 years. During that time he served as part of Operation Enduring Freedom – XIII in Kandahar, Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013, Operation Enduring Freedom – X in Eastern Paktika Providence from 2010 to 2011, Operation Iraqi Freedom – IV in Adhamiyah, Iraq during 2006, Operation Iraqi Freedom – III in Eastern Baghdad from 2005 to 2006, and Operation Iraqi Freedom – I throughout Iraq from 2003 to 2004.

Rock is a registered Professional Engineer who holds a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, a Master’ of Science in Engineer Management from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Originally from New Hampshire, Rock and his family now reside in Alaska.

Mark Weaver

Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Mark Weaver enlisted out of High School in Grand Forks, ND and later attended the U.S. Military Academy’s Prep School and West Point. Commissioned an Armor officer in 1998, he served in a variety of units to include 1st Cavalry Division (Fort Hood, Texas) with three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, 25th Infantry Division (Schofield Barracks, Hawaii) with another deployment to Iraq, 3rd Infantry Division (Fort Stewart, Georgia) with another Afghanistan deployment, the National Training Center (Fort Irwin, California), and back to the 1st Cavalry Division before retiring.

Mark earned his BS in Engineering Management from USMA and MS in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Mark initially worked with a family-owned commercial plumbing business post-Army and has spent the last two-plus years with the Texas Department of Transportation as an Alternative Delivery Project Manager focused on some of the state’s largest and most complex Design-Build projects and Public-Private Partnerships.

Mark has been married for almost 20 years to his wife Samantha and call the scenic village of Salado, TX home when not visiting their two boys and a grandson in Alabama.

John Serafini | Chairman

John Serafini

John Serafini is the chief executive officer of HawkEye 360, the leading developer of space-based radio frequency (RF) mapping and analytics capabilities. In a 10-year career as a venture capitalist and start-up operator, he has founded or led the financing for 10 venture-capital technology companies. Most recently, Mr. Serafini served as senior vice president of Allied Minds, where he led the formation of, and the investment into HawkEye 360, along with other Allied Minds companies such as BridgeSat, Federated Wireless, Percipient Networks, and Whitewood Encryption Systems. His investment activities and management expertise center upon the intersection of profit-maximizing private capital and the unique requirements and R&D capabilities of the U.S. Government. Previously at Good Harbor Consulting, Mr. Serafini partnered with Paladin Capital and The Honorable Richard A. Clarke, the former White House special advisor to three U.S. Presidential Administrations, as a venture capital/growth equity investor and M&A specialist with sector concentration in cybersecurity and expertise managing investments impacted by U.S. national security regulations.

Mr. Serafini is a former Airborne Ranger–qualified U.S. Army infantry officer with duty station assignments at the 82nd Airborne Division and UNCSB-JSA of the Korean DMZ.

A former Boston 40 Under 40 awardee, Mr. Serafini serves as a trustee of the Judge Baker Children’s Center, co-chair of the Milton Academy Annual Fund, and chair of the West Point Class of 1998 Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Mr. Serafini earned a B.S. degree with highest honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School, and an M.P.A. degree from the Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is also a chartered financial analyst and a chartered alternative investment analyst. He lives in Hingham, MA, with his wife, Daniele, and their four children.

Jason Kostal

Jason Kostal

Jason Kostal is the founder and owner of Kostal Guitars, a small business specializing in the creation of handmade, one-of-a-kind instruments for professional musicians, collectors, and discerning players worldwide. In addition to creating his own instruments, Jason continues to work with the military community as an advisor to two music-based veteran non-profit organizations: Guitars4Troops which provides musical instruments to military members serving in combat zones, and Guitars4Vets which helps veterans overcome mental and physical disabilities through the use of music education.

Prior to creating Kostal Guitars, Jason worked as a manager and trainer for a Fortune 100 company after leaving the Army in 2005. He left the corporate world to teach guitar building at The Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ and stayed there until he formally started his company in 2008.

Jason holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a BS in North American Legal Studies from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
