Bullets 2 Beans
David “Doc” Joslin served as a Combat Medic in the Army for nearly two decades, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. After being medically retired in 2013 due to combat injuries, Doc continued his dedication to serving the military community by launching the Bullets 2 Beans podcast in 2020, aimed at supporting and highlighting veterans and military issues. The name "Bullets 2 Beans" has a specific meaning derived from the transition from military life (bullets) to the civilian sector at the end of service (beans or coffee beans). The concept is deeply rooted in the significance of both bullets and coffee in military life.
VFW 9785 Eagle River
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has a rich history dating back to 1899, when veterans of the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection founded local organizations to advocate for rights and benefits for wounded and sick veterans left to care for themselves. The movement rapidly grew, leading to the establishment of the VFW as a powerful voice that played a crucial role in achieving various milestones, such as the creation of the Veterans Administration, the GI Bill for the 20th and 21st centuries, the national cemetery system, and compensation for Vietnam and Gulf War veterans. With nearly 2 million members, the VFW continues to make significant contributions, including community volunteerism, scholarships for students, and advocating for improved services for women veterans and within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
